The year 2024 brought the Multicultural Center Brusinka a time of growth, new projects and deeper human connections. Our center has become a place where Czech mingles with dozens of other languages, where people learn, create, sing — and most importantly, where everyone feels welcome.
Throughout the year, we held 3,714 lessons and consultations and organized 54 cultural and educational events attended by more than 1,100 participants from over ten countries. Our programs were delivered by 33 lecturers and collaborators from six countries, who together teach in nine languages – from Czech to Chinese.
Brusinka connects education, art and community life. Language courses help foreigners integrate into the city’s life, while art and music workshops foster creativity and build bridges between generations. Our concerts, festivals and community gatherings prove that culture is a universal language – one that unites even when words fall short.
An important part of our work is also preventing bullying in schools and supporting the mental well-being of children and youth, especially those adapting to a new environment. Equally essential is our work with older generations, offering programs focused on preventing loneliness and burnout. We believe that caring for mental health is as vital as education itself – because only an emotionally balanced community can truly grow together.
In 2024, we deepened our cooperation within European projects such as Brainery for Youth Workers Supporting Disadvantaged Youth (Erasmus+), Sortition 2024: European Citizens’ Panel – Democratic Odyssey and a series of Study Visits focused on inclusion and diversity in volunteer organizations. We presented at the Active Participation 2024 Conference for the V4 countries and expanded our network of contacts and inspirations across Europe. The head of our Ukrainian department, Lyudmila Pinchuk, was nominated for the award Personality of Non-Governmental Organizations of the South Moravian Region.

Brusinka is connected with many organizations and European networks that share the same values – including the European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC), Anna Lindh Foundation, CIVICUS – World Alliance for Citizen Participation, ANNO JMK, the Creative and Cultural Federation, the British Chamber of Commerce, the Network for the Protection of Democracy, and the South Moravian Youth Council. Thanks to these partnerships, we bring new ideas, projects and opportunities for meaningful encounters to Brno.
Special thanks go to the City of Brno, which supported the project Development of a Multicultural Environment in Brno under Program V – Activities in the Field of National Minorities and Ethnic Groups and to AT&T, which funded the project To support the unity of people from diverse backgrounds by disseminating various educational, artistic and cultural expressions. Both projects helped us expand our course offerings, strengthen linguistic and social cohesion and create new opportunities for dialogue among Brno’s residents.
The Multicultural Center Brusinka continues to grow as a living ecosystem – a space where people, ideas and communities connect. Our goal is for Brno to remain an open and respectful city – a place where everyone can find room to learn, create, and belong.
We thank all our teachers, volunteers, partners and students for their energy and trust. And above all, we thank the City of Brno and AT&T for their support, which allowed our multicultural ecosystem to grow, inspire and connect Brno with the wider world in 2024.
